Your Input Needed: Bill 26 Could Impact How Alberta Restaurants Hire

Bill 26: AHA and TIAA Are Speaking Up Together — And We Need Your Input

Alberta's Immigration Oversight Act (Bill 26) is now law. It will require every employer accessing federal pathways, including Labor Market Impact Assessments (LMIAs) and the Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) Program to register with the province. The regulations are still being written, and the consultation window closes soon.

AHA is partnering with the Tourism Industry Association of Alberta (TIAA) to make sure restaurant operators have a strong, unified voice in shaping those regulations. Here's what that means for you:

• Fill out TIAA's survey so your data joins a province-wide evidence base (3–4 minutes)

• AHA is submitting its own letter of concern to government on behalf of our members

The survey takes 3–4 minutes. Deadline: Monday, June 8.

We're directing all AHA members to TIAA's survey,  not running our own,  so your response contributes to the largest possible dataset. A unified industry voice carries far more weight with government than fragmented submissions.

Watch for an upcoming blog on AHA's full analysis of Bill 26's potential impacts on restaurant operators and copy of our submission to the Government of Alberta.
