Dear Brain - I NEED SLEEP! (how to get good quality sleep, even with unusual work schedules)

A good night’s sleep is an essential foundation for a productive and successful day. Sleep is the building block upon which we can create healthy coping mechanisms for dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma and stress. But truly restful and energizing sleep can be an elusive thing. This session helps participants learn ways they can address common sleep disturbance issues and create an atmosphere for deep, healing slumber, so they can wake up refreshed and ready to face whatever their day may bring.

Presenter - Kim Silverthorn BA, MPCC, CT

The content of this wellness session will be tailored for the Hospitality Industry.

Please note - this session will be a LIVE ONLY presentation, it will not be recorded or available post event. Powerpoint presentations will not be available for distribution afterwards, but participants are welcome to take notes or screenshots throughout the presentation.

The Vision

To promote psychological health and safety for all members of the Edmonton food and beverage community by:

Who We Are

We are a group of passionate hospitality industry professionals and supporters who have experienced the everyday challenges of working in a high stress, high stakes environment. We’ve dealt with the impact of personal struggles, and have felt the helplessness of watching friends and colleagues struggle. We have come together knowing there is strength in numbers, and that if others know they have support and are not alone, it will be a good step. In The Weeds is the start of a conversation, the desire to provide support, and a commitment to really be there for one another.

Our Core Values

Empathy | Accessibility | Positive Change | Destigmatizing Mental Health
