Update: Everyday Payments (Formerly AnyDay) – Regulatory Order and Operator Guidance
Since the initial stories involving the tip management platform Everyday Payments (formerly AnyDay), associated with XTM Inc., several Alberta-based restaurants have reported funds missing from their accounts.
On February 17, 2026, the Bank of Canada issued a temporary compliance order directing XTM Inc. and its affiliated entities to immediately cease performing retail payment activities under the Retail Payment Activities Act (RPAA).
According to the regulator, the order was issued due to serious concerns regarding the safeguarding of end-user funds and potential risk to the public interest. The order applies immediately and represents a significant escalation in regulatory action.
What This Means for Operators
Retail payment activities conducted through the XTM/Everyday Payments platform are prohibited unless otherwise directed by regulators.
Businesses and employees may continue to experience delays or restrictions in accessing funds.
Concerns remain regarding potential shortfalls in balances associated with participant accounts.
